How our domain availability checker works
When you search, we ask each registry directly, live, through its public RDAP service: CIRA for .ca, Verisign for .com and .net, and the registry of every other ending. We only say Available when the registry itself answers that nobody holds the name. If a registry doesn’t answer, or the ending has no public lookup, we say Check at signup instead of guessing.

.ca or .com?
A .ca tells visitors you are Canadian, and only Canadians (people, businesses and organizations) can hold one. A .com is known everywhere. If both are free, many businesses take both and point them to the same site. We register .ca by hand within 1 business day.

Is this domain checker free?
Yes. Search as many names as you like; a few searches a minute per visitor keeps it fast for everyone.
Why does it say “Check at signup”?
Some endings (like .io or .co) have no public lookup, and sometimes a registry is slow to answer. We never show a name as available without the registry’s answer.
Can I buy just the domain?
